Select Entry Programs

CSC offers engaging select entry programs for students in Years 7-12. Programs currently available include:

 

Sporting Pathways Program

Football Development Program

Dance Academy Program

 

All programs cost 125.00 per year per student, which also includes a t-shirt / top in addition to engagement in the program that is coordinated by the service provider throughout the year.

Sporting Pathways Program

Students are given the opportunity to develop a number of crucial athletic qualities. Including Speed, Agility, Mobility, Endurance, Strength, Power, plus develop their understanding and the importance of nutrition, hydration, sleep, goal setting and injury prevention. The program is facilitated by the Regional Institute of Sport.

Sessions are held every Wednesday morning commencing at 7:30am in the Bluewater complex. Students will also be involved in a specific strength and conditioning program, which is held every Wednesday lunchtime at Bluewater Fitness Centre

Dance Academy Program

Under the guidance of Courtney Barrow, students of all ages and abilities will learn and develop their dance skills and performance.

Students will work weekly on the

following:

Weekly preparation for State School

Spectacular and Performance.

Learning foundation dance technique for

all styles of dance.

Learning performance skills and presence on stage.

Developing an understanding of safe

dance practice and awareness of our body.

Guiding Students in developing their own movement and input into the creation of a show.

The program runs Wednesday evenings from 3.30pm to 5.00pm.

Football Development Program

The program aims to engage students of all genders and abilities to access high quality AFL development sessions. The program will run for 25 weeks in preparation for and during local AFL Football seasons.

 

The program is designed and led by Jonathan Simpkin, former AFL premiership player and current player at Colac Tigers Football Club. With years of experience playing and coaching at the highest level, Jonathan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. He has a deep understanding of the game, including tactics, strategy, and player development and is able to communicate this knowledge effectively to students.

 

Students will develop football skills within an inclusive learning environment. The young players will refine technical skills, decision making skills and game strategies through ball-centred activities and modified games.
