Year 9/10/11 Ag Hort Incursion

CQ University (Rockhampton) recently visited our CSC Ag Hort students for an engaging workshop on Livestock Technology and Tractor Coding. The students had the exciting opportunity to experience firsthand what it's like to track and code a robot as if it were a driverless tractor. These workshops are crucial in introducing our students to the future of agricultural technology.

In the Tractor Coding activity, students learned to program Edison robots to assist with farm tasks, demonstrating how coding can improve agricultural efficiency. This hands-on experience not only makes coding more relevant but also links students to real-world agricultural applications, fostering problem-solving skills and innovation.

During the Livestock Tracking session, students explored the advantages of GPS technology for monitoring livestock, learning how it can simplify and enhance farm operations. This practical experience connects students with real-world agricultural solutions, encouraging creativity and problem-solving in their future careers.
